Dr. Angelina H. Rodriguez is a Houston-based psychotherapist passionate about helping others discover a unique journey toward healing. A noted artist, Dr. Angelina brings a creative perspective and integrative approach to psychotherapy incorporating the principles of Depth Psychology with talk therapy and art therapy. She also encourages clients to utilize dream therapy, journaling, and meditation.

For more than two decades, as the founder of Psychotherapy by Angelina, Dr. Angelina has provided caring support for individuals, couples, and groups in matters of grief, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, sex and love addiction, and 12-step support work, among other issues.

As a philosophy, Dr. Angelina believes “Therapy is more than a once-a-week solution. It is a daily exercise of awareness, belief systems, and practice and encourages clients to be open to physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual changes.”

Evaluations for Immigration is an associated practice, also founded by Dr. Angelina. The practice serves the therapeutic, medical, and legal needs of the immigrant population seeking such intervention.

Dr. Angelina has done extensive research on the tradition of the ofrenda ritual and the role of artmaking in the grief and healing process and has led ofrenda-making workshops throughout the United States. “The Ofrenda Ritual: Bridging Art and Death,” is a documentary that follows the healing journeys of participants in one such workshop.

Participants describe the workshops as “extremely effective, memorable, and transformational processes.” Combining both “talk” and “art therapy” in her practice. Dr. Rodriguez leads participants on a step-by-step creative journey that encourages exploration of one’s behavior, relationships, patterns, work and life happiness. The result is a roadmap that uncovers one’s authentic and emotional power.

Dr. Angelina has been featured on numerous media outlets including Fox 26, ABC 13 Viva Houston, KHOU Channel 11, Fox News, Envy Magazine, Houston Chronicle, 1560 The Game, Great Day Houston, Houston Family Magazine, among others.

Dr. Angelina is a professional artist whose paintings and murals can be found in both private residences and businesses throughout the country. Additionally, her art has been displayed in a number of prestigious galleries and museums. She has served as a faculty member at both the Art Institute of Houston and Houston Community College. She received her Ph.D. at Pacifica Graduate Institute, in Depth Psychology, Santa Barbara, Ca.
