Back to school season can be both exciting and nerve-wrecking for many students. From choosing the correct classes, professors, supplies, and paying for school, it can pile up and cause a mountain of stress and anxiety. Students of all ages but especially those at the university level can struggle to maintain a healthy balance between work, college, social life, and simple alone time. When it comes to college, students have several classes with homework, studying and exams to prepare for.
One thing that can make a considerable difference is having a daily planner. With a daily planner, one can map and write out exactly what their week will look like along with due dates, important dates, etc. This will help you stay organized and make sure that you will not forget important tasks and get to them in a timely manner. Speaking of timely manner, a planner also makes sure that you develop good time management which is essential for college students to be successful as not only will it help in school but in the work field after graduation. Time management also comes in handy when wanting to make some time for yourself, friends, and hobbies. It is very important to make time outside of school and work to relax and unwind from the stress. Whether it be painting, exercising, or simply reading a book for enjoyment, it is crucial for you to make time for yourself lest you risk experiencing burnout which can be debilitating and stop you from being in a creative and academically active space. Most importantly, your mental health and safety always come first in these situations.
If you have feelings of depression, anxiety, or burnout, most universities and colleges have resources such as therapists and counselors for you to reach out to and lean on when you can.
