Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses many types of creative processes to improve your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Expressive art therapy can also increase awareness of self and others. This in turn may promote personal development, increase coping skills, and enhance cognitive function. Based on personality theories, human development, psychology, family systems, and art education, it is a form of therapy that encourages the expression of feelings through painting, drawing, sculpture, and more!
Sometimes it’s hard to put exactly how we feel into words. Art therapy allows you to stop trying to find the right words and simply create a visual representation of how you feel. It reduces anxiety, promotes interpersonal skills, increases self-esteem, and is a healthy way to explore your feelings and resolve emotional conflicts.
