Working is a part of almost everyone’s day. People work in lots of different things such as retail, an office job, waitressing, construction, etc. Obviously, some jobs can be a lot more stressful than others. A job that contains a lot of responsibility, for example being a doctor, superintendent, or nurse, can take up a lot of time. This can cause negative stress and take over your life, both work and personal. Some people are good at separating their time but others are not and these people are called workaholics. A workaholic is a person addicted to working hard and working long hours impulsively. Workaholics tend to be perfectionists and want to be the absolute best and this drives them to work more than the average person to the point where it is ruining their life. This condition can be dangerous as these people usually suffer from sleep deprivation, fear of failure, headaches, and intense stress. Stress is a silent killer. Stress on the body can be debilitating and life-threatening. It is super important to separate work life and personal life in order to maintain a balanced, healthy life. People addicted to work can greatly benefit from focusing on their physical and mental health first. Maintaining a good diet, having a good sleep schedule, and socializing with friends are good. They could also benefit from seeing a therapist as they can give them the proper tools and techniques to help balance their life,
